After buying the Figboot on Pens preorder of the Momento Zero Carolina Midnight, I went on a deep dive of all the variations out there for the Momento Zero. This immediately became one of the pens I became rapidly interested in. I waited for a bit, but I folded like a goddamn origami crane. While perhaps the least impressive of all the pens in my collection thus far, it is still a great pen that caught my attention.

The most noticeable thing is that while it is marked as Elastic, it is not flex. It does flex by nature, but rather than being a flex, it is more that the nib is elastic and bouncier. The nib is stiffer feeling than my Medium on my Visconti Watermark Blue Moon, but it is also significantly more pliable. I'm not sure if that sentence made any sense at all. It is stiffer but reacts to pressure better and provides a bouncy return when pressure is released. The smoothness is almost a given. It is super smooth and enjoyable to write with. I would expect any pen of this caliber to be super smooth. It does not actually provide much feedback. You get a sense of the paper beneath the pen, but you don't really get feedback. Overall, a decently wet nib, Elastic Fine, that provides a highly enjoyable and repeatable writing experience.

Is it worth the $600 price tag? Probably not, but for $600, I'd say it's definitely a purchase one would not regret. I have heard that Leonardo pens may come dry or otherwise not being a gusher, mine was just fine. While I understand the sentiment about dry nibs being bad, I would say this nib is by no means a gusher. Juicy is the right word for it, especially when concerned about the wetness of a Fine nib. Smooth, bouncy, and elegant.
